Steve Plemmons

Steve is a native of the Chattanooga area. He is a graduate of Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe High School and received his education in Bible from Southern Christian University (now Amridge University) in Montgomery, AL. He and his family first came to the East Ridge congregation in 1998. Steve joined the staff as Associate Minister in January 1999. He remained with the congregation until December of 2012. From 2012 to 2014, Steve did fill-in preaching work for several area congregations. In 2014, he became the pulpit minister for the Sale Creek church of Christ in Sale Creek, TN, where he remained until December of 2019. In January 2020, he rejoined the staff at East Ridge in his current position. Steve and his wife Tonya married in 1980. They have three adult daughters, Brooke (deceased in 2024), Amber, and Cayla, and one adolescent daughter, Madeleine. In addition, they have six grandchildren: five grandsons and one granddaughter.

Steve enjoys watching The Andy Griffith Show and a wide range of classic movies, over and over again. He is also a band geek who enjoys playing the Euphonium with the Mid-South Symphonic Band and the John Philip Sousa Foundation’s National Community Band.
